Tallow Balm No. 1 – Multi-Use Skin Conditioning Balm
Tallow Balm No. 1
Straightforward conditioning for dry, hardworking skin.
Vulpes Supply House Tallow Balm No. 1 is a concentrated, multi-use skin balm made with rendered beef tallow, beeswax, jojoba oil, vitamin E, cedarwood oil, and orange oil.
The rich, water-free formula softens as it warms against the skin, allowing a small amount to spread across dry hands, elbows, feet, knees, cuticles, and other areas that need additional conditioning. It absorbs best when applied sparingly and worked thoroughly into clean skin.
There is no diluted lotion base and no unnecessary filler. Just a compact balm designed for routine skin maintenance.
Ownership is maintenance—even when the equipment is you.
What It Does

- Heels and feet
- Cuticles

- Beard-area skin
- Other external areas that need concentrated conditioning
Why a Water-Free Balm?
Most conventional lotions contain a significant amount of water. That is not automatically bad, but it means they require a different formula structure and usually include emulsifiers and preservatives.
Tallow Balm No. 1 is an anhydrous, or water-free, balm. Because it is concentrated, you only need a small amount.
The goal is not to coat the skin in grease. The goal is to apply the thinnest effective layer and work it in completely.
Ingredients and Their Roles
Beef Tallow
Forms the rich conditioning base of the balm and helps soften dry, rough-feeling skin.
Beeswax
Gives the balm structure and helps create a light protective layer that slows moisture loss.
Jojoba Oil
Improves spreadability and helps the balm feel smoother and less heavy during application.
Vitamin E
Functions as an antioxidant within the oil-based formula and contributes to the balm’s conditioning feel.
Cedarwood and Orange Oils
Provide the balm’s light wood-and-citrus aroma.
How to Use
- Begin with clean, dry skin.
- Scoop out a very small amount.
- Warm the balm between your fingertips.
- Massage it into the skin until evenly distributed.
- Add more only if necessary.
For best results, apply after washing or bathing while the skin still retains some moisture.
A pea-sized amount can cover more area than expected. Overapplication will make the product feel greasy and waste the balm.
Texture and Absorption
Tallow Balm No. 1 is richer than a conventional lotion. It is supposed to be.
When used correctly, it should soften and spread as it warms, then leave the skin conditioned rather than heavily coated. Applying too much will create a greasy finish.
Start small. You can always add more.
Aroma
The balm has a restrained cedarwood-and-orange aroma.
The scent may vary slightly between batches because the formula uses natural materials.
